About the Artwork

As the world continues to evolve, the challenge of preserving our cultural languages and scripts grows ever wider. The will to fight for our language must start from within us. The painting highlights how we today cast a shadow and carry on the ancient languages of our forefathers, reigniting the spirit of local languages and dialects.
Part of the proceeds will benefit NU’s community outreach projects in Sampaloc, Manila.
(The artwork is on display at National University Museum, 408 Sampaloc, Manila from October 14 to 19, 2024.)
Using warm orange hues against dark earthy tones to depict firelight in a nocturnal outdoor scene, creating a tranquil and reflective mood.
