After dedicating over three decades to a career as a chemist, Zenaida decided to return to her first love — painting. She's a self-taught artist, driven by instinct and passionate about capturing emotions through art.
Zenaida's creative journey began with charcoal, where she started by drawing and quickly grasped the fundamentals. She primarily focused on portraits on illustration boards, but she soon felt limited by the monochrome nature of charcoal. Seeking more color and vibrancy, she shifted to watercolor and dry pastels, adding excitement and depth with their vivid hues.
As she explored these mediums, she stumbled upon the work of her favorite artist, Voka, on YouTube. Watching him transform large canvases into striking portraits left her enchanted, and it was then that she decided to try acrylics.
She finds acrylic the most exciting medium for her artistic vision, offering the vibrant colors she craves and the flexibility to bring her ideas to life in bold, expressive ways.
Over time, Zenaida's focus shifted to portraiture, where she now strives to capture the depth and emotions of individuals. Using acrylic on canvas, she blends vibrant colors that merge realism with abstract qualities, giving each piece a unique and emotional touch.
