This painting was inspired by the movie "The Sound of Music," thus the title "The Hills are Alive."
This painting portrays a scene that is whimsical by using bright, happy colors, and bold strokes. I used mixed media mainly: layers of acrylic paint and modeling paste to achieve a sculptural effect on the background and the hills in the foreground.
Using bright and contrasting colors, swirling patterns in the sky, and bold textural details, it conveys a dynamic and uplifting energy.
