Q&A with Earlmon Roy Reyes
-
What inspires your art?
I get inspiration from fantasy-themed movies, books, and even card games as they fuel my imagination to create. I usually have a film like "Lord of the Rings" or "Harry Potter" playing in the background when I create. Though my artistic style is based on my mood, I'm still searching for a definitive style that shows my true self.

How did you address challenges in your art journey?
Most of the time, I compare my work to other artists; it shatters me to the feeling that my artwork isn't good enough and that someone's work is better than mine. It's an attitude I'm still working on, and I want to remove that from my perspective. My artist friends always remind me that "you do you."

How does art play a role in your daily life?
Art plays a significant role in my daily life as it serves as a means for me to express myself freely and find refuge. It is also a potential part of the legacy I will leave behind. Also, I hope my art's more profound meaning will prompt people to ask questions that lead to realizations.
