Gabriel Pingol

An Ilocano artist, Gabriel is a Special Fine Arts degree holder from the International School for the Arts, Languages, and Academe.  Working mainly with acrylic as medium, his inspirations are drawn from the history and culture of his home province, Ilocos Norte, which highlight the locale’s traditional ceremonial dances, inabel (traditional art of weaving), terno fashion, and mood of the previous war era and its effects on today’s Ilocano culture.

Keeping his work minimal by focusing on one subject and pouring all the details on it, Gabriel’s paintings tell a story that conveys the significance of honoring the Ilocano people’s identity and struggles in a multicultural society.
