Manila, Philippines – Rising young designers Dani Osmeña and Gabbie Sarenas, both known for their respective namesake fashion labels, choose one of their favorite items from The Casa Online 01 auction: charcoal drawing of Old Man’s Hands (a pair of 20th-century charcoal drawings) by Baldomero Romero Ressendi.
While Sarenas likes the technique and personality of the piece, Osmeña is fascinated with its depiction of the passing of time.
The said drawing is one of the 180 lots featured in The Casa Online 01, whose auction date is scheduled on Saturday, 11 July 2020, at 3 p.m. The Casa Online 01 is the first in a series of online auctions hosted by auction house Casa de Memoria’s new virtual platform.
The other pieces for auction include Portrait of a Girl (a 19th-century lithograph) by Henri Matisse, Eye Surgery (an etching printed on paper) by Robert Bernard, Mujer Frente Al Mar (a 20th-century watercolor painting) by Jordi Puiggali Clavell, The Female Nude (a 20th-century nude sketch) by Eloisa Noblom, a pair of Filipino watercolor landscapes, two Portuguese porcelain pieces from Vista Alegre, Salina and Palacio de S Bento ashtrays, and a Hermes Standard 6 typewriter.
The proceeds will be donated to ABS CBN Sagip Kapamilya, the emergency humanitarian assistance program of ABS CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc.
