Manila, Philippines—The 5th Ortigas Art Festival at Ortigas Malls’ Estancia returns to celebrate Filipino art in its myriad forms now until August 7, 2022. Initially, the festival was established to make different art forms more accessible to the public, featuring more than 200 artists, composed of Filipinos and foreign artists.
The festival’s 5th edition showcases painting and sculpture, film and photography, dance and fashion, and art workshops.
“Art has the power to connect people and uplift their spirits, especially during this pandemic, said Renee Bacani, Ortigas Malls vice president.
Now we’re slowly recovering and embracing the new normal, there’s no better time to show that Philippine art is alive and well and is for everyone to enjoy.
To those who follow the visual arts scene, the Ortigas Art Festival will display paintings and sculptures from local art galleries Agos Studios, Bastedor Art Project, Vmeme Contemporary Art Gallery, Linangan Art Residency, Red Lab Gallery, Thombayan Art Space, and Makiling Art Studio.
Visual artists Rita Bustamante, known for her expressive portraits of women, and Rico Lascano, known for his meditative abstract works, are also participating.
