The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) presents a week-long exhibition titled “Luminaries and Legacies: CCP Gawad Para sa Sining 2024 & Other CCP Institutional Awards,” celebrating the achievements of Filipino artists. The exhibit runs until September 27, 2024, at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, Circuit Makati.
The exhibition is divided into two sections: the first honors the 2024 CCP Gawad Para sa Sining awardees, while the second showcases the CCP’s institutional awards. It highlights the invaluable contributions of the awardees and the lasting impact of the CCP on Philippine culture.
The CCP Gawad Para sa Sining, the highest award from the CCP, recognizes artists and cultural workers who have made outstanding contributions to their fields. Honorees include Joey Ayala, Gener Caringal, Mike de Leon, Marilyn Gamboa, Gino Gonzales, Pete Lacaba Jr., the Loboc Children’s Choir, Julie Lluch, Mario O’ Hara, and Lea Salonga. There are also be tributes to Sen. Edgardo Angara and former CCP Trustee Zenaida Tantoco.
The second section features a collection of trophies awarded by CCP from 1970 to the present, showcasing achievements and artistry. These trophies were created by renowned Filipino artists, such as National Artists Napoleon Abueva, Abdulmari Imao, Arturo Luz, and many more.
The exhibition is held at the Jaime Zobel Sr. Hall, 5th floor of the Samsung Performing Arts Theater at Circuit Makati.
