The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and Arthaland, a property development firm, unveiled their third collaborative exhibit, “Kwentong Kahoy.” This exhibit, featuring works from the CCP’s 21st Century Art Museum (21AM) collection, runs in Sevina Park, Biñan, Laguna.
A showcase of 73 pieces, this woodcraft and environment-themed exhibit speaks volumes about the art of woodcraft. This is made possible using art forms, such as carving, relief printing, and other forms, which help translate wood into rich patterns and depth. The artworks combine the natural landscape of Sevina Park, sustainable practices, and craft, encouraging the audience to reflect on their engagement between art and nature.
The CCP and Arthaland have established a deep partnership since 2022 based on their shared interest in promoting arts and culture in different areas of the Philippines. As CCP Vice President and Artistic Director Dennis Marasigan explained, “This exhibit reminds us of the important role the arts play in shaping the world around us.”
Similarly, Arthaland Vice Chairman and President Jaime Gonzales emphasized the importance of the partnership in forwarding the company’s intentions of promoting sustainable living within Arthaland, “Through art, we have fostered deeper connections with nature, emphasizing the beauty and significance of trees and plants in our everday life.”
“Kwentong Kahoy” will run every day until December 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, on November 24, a special guided tour and workshop will take place.
The exhibition is in Sevina Park beside the De La Salle University-Laguna Campus. Admission is free.
