MADE Grand Awardees Get P150K Scholarship to Eskinita Art Farm

The entry deadline for this year’s competition is March 31, 2025, 11:59 p.m.

Manila, Philippines—Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) has partnered with the Eskinita Art Farm’s residency program, spearheaded by its founder, Alfredo Esquillo, Jr., a MADE alum who won First Prize Oil on Canvas in 1993.

The partnership aims to support the continued artistic development of Filipino artists after the competition, including creative exploration, audience engagement, and prepping for their first solo show.

According to Esquillo, his experiences with residency programs impressed him with the value of mentorship, collaboration, and critical feedback. “During my residencies, I also had co-art residents, and we learned many things from each other,” he said.

“We also met curators and talked with them.  It’s an experience you wouldn’t have alone in your studio.” These exchanges have allowed peer-to-peer learning and open discussions among guest mentors, established artists, and curators.

The 2025 MADE competition is accepting entries in three categories: (1) painting (oil/acrylic on canvas) for 18 to 35 years old, (2) sculpture for 18 to 50 years old, and (3) mixed media for 18 to 40 years old.

The Grand Awardees will receive a P150,000 scholarship to the Eskinita Art Residency Program.

Participation is free.

Metrobank Foundation Inc.’s MADE competition is one of its flagship initiatives; the others recognize outstanding Filipinos, provide scholarships, promote math education, support social development, and celebrate National Teachers’ Month from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5 this year.

To date, the MADE competition has helped more than 200 artists.
