Terno Meets 20th-Century Masters in ‘Filipiniana x Obra’

The fashion-visual arts exhibit runs at the Sandigan Reception Hall, National Museum of Fine Arts, City of Manila, until May 4, 2025.

Manila, Philippines—The Cultural Center of the Philippines, in partnership with BENCH/Suyen Corporation, reinterprets the terno, the traditional Filipina dress, in the exhibition “Filipiniana x Obra” at the National Museum of Fine Arts until May 4, 2025.

These fashion pieces, designed by the participants–winners, mentors, and finalists–at the recent “TernoCon 2025,” a biennial workshop and competition, were inspired by renowned 20th-century Filipino visual artists, including National Artists Leandro Locsin, Jose Joya, and Ang Kiukok, among others.

TernoCon plays a crucial role in CCP’s dedication to providing an avenue to give a platform to budding fashion designers while promoting the excellent craftsmanship behind the reinterpretation of the national dress…

CCP President Kaye Tinga
