About the Artwork

Para bang dinala mo ako sa isang lugar na hindi ko pa napupuntahan noon, isang lugar na napakalayo.  Isang lugar na napakaganda, isang lugar na tanging ikaw at ako lang ang nakakaalam kung saan.

Pagkatapos pinaniwala mo akong dito natin sabay na tutuparin ang mga pangarap natin, pero iniwan mo ako.  Iniwan mo ako ng mag-isa, iniwan mo ako ng walang paalam, iniwan mo akong hindi alam ang daan pabalik. At hanggang ngayon, naliligaw pa rin ako.  Naliligaw pa rin ako kakahanap sa'yo.

Dastin earned his Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English, from De La Salle University-Dasmariñas in 2015. He also took short courses in advanced painting at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. In the same year, he passed the licensure examination for teachers. From 2015-2019, he taught English and Visual Arts in the Junior and Senior High Schools at PAREF Southridge School in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. He coached students in speech choir competitions, individual speech contests, stage plays, and painting contests. He was part of the coaching and props design team in the SIGABO National Sabayang Pagbigkas Competition 2017 and the University of Asia and the Pacific Sabayang Pagbigkas Competition 2018 and won 3rd place. 

Aside from teaching English, he has also excelled in teaching Arts and coaching students in different painting competitions, who won the Semi-Finalist in Cocolife National Painting Competition 2015, 2nd Place in De La Salle Zobel Peace-of-Art poster making contest 2016, and Champion in the Children’s Poster Making Contest at the Ateneo De Manila 2019. He also had his first solo art exhibit at PAREF Southridge school last August 2018. 

Currently, he accepts art commissions and willingly delivers talks and workshops about Arts to high school students.
