This piece exemplifies how power can separate rulers from their subjects. It primarily describes how those in power waste and misuse the country’s resources for their ends. It also depicts how other officials and leaders choose to ignore the growing poverty problems that are causing public suffering rather than address the issues. 

Instead, they choose to turn a deaf ear and continue to party and attend other social events using the public funds intended for poor people.

The lower class continues to suffer while those seated in power continue to enjoy and celebrate the meager wealth we have worked so hard for.
